Progressive vs Stationary Waves.
I. In a progressive wave, all particles oscillate with the same amplitude.
II. In a stationary wave, the amplitude varies from zero at nodes to maximum at antinodes.
III. In a progressive wave, the phase varies continuously with distance.
IV. In a stationary wave, all particles between two consecutive nodes vibrate in the same phase.
V. Energy flows continuously across any cross-section in a stationary wave.
